“Why a restored or recreated helmet?"

If you’re like me, a collector on a budget, then you probably cant afford $3000.00 to $5000.00 for an original WW2 era D-bale paratrooper helmet. Many museums and serious collectors regularly use recreations to fill a hole in their collections or to display a representational piece that is ultra rare.

“Why can’t I have my choice of liners?"

Sorry, but my supply just doesn’t allow for that luxury. I will, however, strive to use WW2 era liners whenever possible. Remember, liner shells remained virtually unchanged until 1958. The only visual difference would be the dome stamp and lack of front eyelet in the late 1950’s. We can easily add a front eyelet on any post-war liner.

“I want a mint, un-issued, fresh from the 1944 era time capsule helmet shell without a single blemish. Why can’t I have one?"

Simply put, these shells are over 60 years old and many WW2 steel helmet shells saw use up until the late 1980’s. If you want an un-issued, time capsule piece, then hire a medium and consult the ghost of Einstein. He’d be happy to discuss the merits of time travel with you. Until then, we'll make every effort to provide you a helmet that is free from dents or cracks. Occasionally, dents and cracks are present and can be cosmetically repaired.

“Will you sell me paint?"

Sorry, but mailing paint requires a hazmat permit.

“I have my own steel shell and liner. Will you restore it for me, or do I have to use yours?"

Certainly. Please feel free to send me your liner and shell with a complete description of what you’d like done. Consult our price list for a run-down of charges for a complete or partial restoration.

“I have a yard full of old liners that I don’t know what to do with. Can you help me out?"

Hmmm…let’s see…Uh, YES!! As long as they have the chinstrap lugs on the inside and are free from major cracks, I can use them. Send me 10 of your old liners, (regardless of webbing condition) and I’ll send you a free LDSH restored M1 Infantry helmet. Send me 20 liners, and I'll send you a free complete M1C paratrooper helmet. Send me 40 liners, and I'll wash your car and promise not to let my son date your daughter.

“Where do you get your shells? I want to pillage the yard like a conquering Viking"

Sorry, but if I divulged that little piece of information. The owner of the DRMO lot would have me smothered in my sleep. It’s my little secret. Mine, ALL MINE!! (Evil laugh)

I'm tired of geting fisted by Yugoslavian Customs every time I receive a package. Will you undervalue my customs form and mark it as a "gift"?

Are you insane?? How would you like some Eastern Europen customs official that looks like the wife of a Russian beet farmer, leaving hob-nailed jackboot impressions on your head at 3 AM? Sorry, but it's just not worth my having to answer to INTERPOL.

Where, exactly, are your facilities that we keep hearing about, and that I read about in Forbes and Fortune magazines last month?

Lawdog WW2 Steel Helmets worldwide-headquarters that house both our manufacturing and global distrubition center, are located in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. I just completed construction on my new workshop and moved my whole operation out of my garage, so my wife can finally park her SUV indoors when it snows. LDSH Inc, consists of me, (Owner, President, CEO, and all around good guy) my wife Robbi, (Chief Financial Officer) and my young daughters who seem to have developed interrupting production into a fine art form.

What do you look like and can I bear your children?

While not specifically a WW2 or helmet related question, it is one that often plagues me, and I only bring it up here to put the issue to rest. I have often been compared to and publicly mistaken for George Clooney.....or Nick Nolte on a bender depending on your perspective. I hope this settles the matter once and for all.
